We know some people think it’s cool to have bees living in their house, but after a few years bees that were no problem become a real problem.
Call us at the first sight of bees flying in and out of any type of crack or opening before they become a problem. Using thermal imaging we find the nest, cut a hole and remove all the comb while searching for the Queen. The Queen, comb and most of the workers will be relocated to one of our 4 sanctuaries.
Bees have an immense effect on our local ecosystems. They pollinate everything from fruits and veggies to all sorts of flowers, adding beauty to the landscape. Yet, feral and managed colonies are still in decline.
We can expect a 15% decline every year, but from 2021 to 2022 Honey Bee colonies have crashed by 45%. That’s huge considering that most managed colonies are used for crop pollination.
Plus, we can’t leave climate change out of the picture. La Nina has been set up in the Pacific for three years now, we’re praying for her brother to show up. Drought is devastating for Honey Bee colonies in the South.
When temperatures hit One Hundred degrees, the foragers of the colony stop collecting nectar and pollen and search for water to bring to cool the hive. There is also an additional cause of these unsettling colony declines and that is residential pesticide / insecticide use.
